Influenza 2015
Having made our way through the second half of winter, all of us at CPG would like to thank you for your patience and understanding during this busy cold and flu season.

Flu season usually runs from November through March and it seems that the CDC has warned we should be ready for a peak incidence of cases this month.  As always, CPG makes every attempt possible to be responsible stewards with regard to dispensing medications and we therefore follow the CDC guidelines (which also dictate AAP and CHOA guidelines) for treatment of flu.

If you or your family members have not yet had their flu vaccinations, we urge you to do so now since this is the first line of defense against flu.  Even though H3N2 seems to be mutating, the flu vaccine still provides some protection and some protection is better than none at all.  It is very unfortunate that our local community has suffered 2 child losses to flu thus far and our own in-office tally has indicated that the majority of positive cases occurred in individuals that were not vaccinated and that those who were vaccinated experienced much less intense symptoms as well as shorter duration of symptoms.

In order to better clarify what to expect from this season in general, please feel free to review the following links:

We hope you have a healthy happy winter!!!
